AED 1,000 licence: SEDD initiative at “Make it in the Emirates”

The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), along with its affiliate Ruwad, is participating in the “Make it in the Emirates” Forum, held from 4 to 7 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), and organised by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. The forum aims to boost industrial growth and support economic diversification efforts in the UAE.

Supporting Sharjah’s industrial vision

This participation aligns with Sharjah’s strategic direction to strengthen its position as an attractive hub for industrial investment, support the growth of national enterprises, and enhance the competitiveness of local industries by offering flexible, investor-friendly services, in line with the emirate’s strategy to boost competitiveness and attract high-quality investments.

AED 1,000 industrial licence initiative

Sharjah’s platform at the forum saw strong engagement on the opening day from investors, business leaders and manufacturers. During the event, the department introduced a special initiative offering investors and entrepreneurs the opportunity to obtain an instant industrial licence for just AED 1,000, covering all permitted industrial activities in the emirate. This offer is available exclusively throughout the exhibition period.

The participation of SEDD and Ruwad also aims to build direct communication channels with leading manufacturers and global companies present at the forum, fostering partnerships that support the transfer of technology and knowledge to local factories, thereby enhancing the quality of products bearing the “Made in the UAE” label and strengthening their presence in global markets.

Commitment to UAE Industrial Strategy 2030

The department affirmed that Sharjah’s participation in this major event underscores its commitment to achieving the UAE Industrial Strategy 2030. It highlighted that the emirate boasts a robust industrial infrastructure, a flexible legislative framework, and strong logistical capabilities, positioning it as a prime destination for industrial investment.

Platform for partnerships and innovation

SEDD’s participation in the “Make it in the Emirates” Forum reflects its firm commitment to advancing sustainable industrial development in the UAE and reinforcing Sharjah’s status as a leading economic and production hub. The forum serves as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing investment opportunities, and building partnerships that enhance the competitiveness of the national industrial sector.

Ruwad supports entrepreneurs

Through the platform, the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (Ruwad) is showcasing its services, programmes and initiatives that support Emirati entrepreneurs, offering guidance and consultancy to help establish and develop their businesses, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and fostering innovation in the emirate.

A leading platform for industrial growth

The “Make it in the Emirates” Forum is a prominent platform that brings together decision-makers, investors, government entities and private sector representatives to discuss challenges and growth opportunities, while presenting innovative solutions to advance the industrial sector and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global hub for manufacturing and smart investment.
