SRTI Park, Bee’ah partner to support local, global start-ups

The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) and Sharjah-based waste management company Bee’ah have signed a strategic partnership to attract, support and finance the next generation of local and international startups in the fields of technology and sustainability.

The financing of the projects will be identified in the pilot phase of the Accelerator Program, which was launched by the SRTI Park recently.

The programme is an industry-specific project aimed at bringing companies across the world towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Speaking about the strategic collaboration, the chief executive officer of SRTI Park, HE Hussain Al Mahmoudi, said that the partnership is representative of the vision of the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, to enhance the investment and technological sector in Sharjah.

Al Mahmoudi said: “We are developing a pivotal center in Sharjah for a global network of developers and researchers to support the industrial sector and move it to a future industry based on the latest innovative technologies.”

Commenting on the partnership and how it will play part, group chief executive officer of Bee’ah, Khaled Al Huraimel, said: “Our goal is to combine digital transformation and sustainability to improve the lifestyle of societies and keep pace with technological development and provide sustainable environmental solutions that contribute to building a better future. Through this partnership with SRTI Park, we look forward to attracting emerging and innovative companies and enabling and supporting them to make a quantum leap in Sharjah and the UAE by providing an environment of creativity and innovation.”
