The 2015 World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment will focus on the impact of geopolitics on foreign direct investment (FDI). The forum, hosted by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and organised by Conway Events, will be held from 9 – 10 February in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates: the first time that the event has taken place in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The first panel session of the World Forum “East meeting West: Geopolitics and Foreign Direct Investment” is expected to address a wide range of issues affecting global investment including cross-border transactions, international trade agreements, local factors affecting corporate governance and the role of diplomacy in global business deals.
To be moderated by the BBC’s Frank Gardner, the discussion will include panelists Mishal Kanoo, Deputy Chairman of Kanoo Group; Badr Jafar, Chief Executive Officer of Crescent Enterprises; Dalya Al Muthanna, Chief Executive Officer Gulf Region for GE; Suparna Singh, Head Minerals and Vice President Corporate at multi-billion dollar Indian conglomerate Essar; and Badlisyah Abdul Ghani, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian-headquartered CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad.
‘Where East Meets West’ has been chosen as the theme for the 2015 World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment and the event has drawn together a truly international platform of speakers to discuss global investment issues.
