Sharjah Taxi has announced that 83% of its fleet consists of hybrid and eco-friendly vehicles that run on both fuel and electricity. This is part of Sharjah Taxi’s ambitious and strategic plan to reach 100% by 2027, in line with the country’s objectives to adopt sustainable transportation solutions and develop an integrated network of smart and eco-friendly transport systems that use clean energy sources and reduce carbon emissions.
Khalid Al-Kindi, General Manager of Sharjah Taxi, said: “Driven by our commitment to achieving sustainable development, we at Sharjah Taxi continuously work on developing and updating our fleet. This effort supports sustainable transportation solutions and provides eco-friendly alternatives, including electric and hybrid vehicles. These initiatives support Sharjah’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and benefit society, the economy, and the environment while aligning with the wise leadership’s goals and vision of establishing smart, sustainable, and more livable cities for the future.”
Sharjah Taxi offers a series of comprehensive services to its users, including city taxi services, airport taxi services, women’s taxi services, family taxi services, luxury vehicle services (limousine), school student transport services (Rafaq), services for people with disabilities, and taxi services for the Eastern and Central regions.
It is worth mentioning that Sharjah Taxi is one of the companies under Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.
