Sharjah tourism on its way to major improvement

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) disclosed all that’s happening in Sharjah’s tourism projects and all that’s coming up at the Arab Travel Market (ATM) this year, going on at the Dubai World Trade Center from May 9 to 12.

A press conference was held at the Sharjah Pavilion at ATM 2022, which saw His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, the Chairman of SCTDA; Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, the Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA); along with other noteworthy names and media personalities.

H.E. Al Midfa said that plans are on to fortify the Emirate’s position as an important family tourism destination worldwide, and the Emirate is fully equipped to offer ground-breaking, unique and varied tourism experiences to visitors from every part of the world.

The SCTDA Chairman said that Sharjah has developed its hotel sector considerably to embrace over 100 facilities comprising more than 10,000 rooms and apartments. These consist of beach hotels, city-center hotels, and other facilities offering a genuine Emirati experience, along with hotels in the Central Region in Mleiha and Al Badayer, providing exceptional lodging experiences, away from the commotion of city life, where guests can soak in the natural landscapes right from mountains to sand dunes.

In the last few years, the Emirate has made a lot of efforts toward improvement of the eco-tourism sector for offering outstanding experiences to all visitors.
