” Sharjah Ports ” and “KCMC” discuss developing BPKM’s services

Sharjah24: The Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points in Sharjah discussed, during its recent meeting, with a delegation from the Kalba City Municipal Council (KCMC), ways of consolidating cooperation relations between the two sides in various fields related to upgrading the services provided through the Border Port of Khatam Milaha (BPKM), and enhancing joint work in accordance with the Port’s vision and strategy, aimed at to develop infrastructure, modernise technologies, and simplify the procedures in line with the latest developments.
This came during the reception of the committee headed by His Excellency Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points in Sharjah, in the presence of several dignitaries.

During the meeting, the attendees reviewed the latest developments and studies on the development of the Border Port of Khatam Milaha, the facilities provided to arrivals and departures, as well as a presentation of the work mechanisms followed in light of the “Covid-19” pandemic.

His Excellency Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Raisi welcomed the attendees, stressing that this meeting comes within the framework of the committee’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation with all the partners in the government agencies and bodies, contributing in improving the performance of ports and border points in the Emirate of Sharjah, improving operations, simplifying procedures and developing services provided to customers and travelers, in implementation of the Sharjah government’s strategy aimed at upgrading the work system at all ports of the emirate.

His Excellency pointed out that the coming period will witness the holding of more coordination meetings between the two sides, with the aim of strengthening the strategic partnership and cooperation, unifying efforts and exchanging knowledge and experience, especially in terms of enhancing the infrastructure efficiency at the Border Port of Khatam Milaha.

At the conclusion of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Abdullah Sarhan Al Zaabi handed over to His Excellency Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Raisi the shield of the Kalba City Municipal Council, in appreciation of the efforts of the Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points in Sharjah and its keenness to develop the workflow to improve the general performance of all the emirate’s ports.
