AED 1 billion government housing development launched in Al Sayouh suburb

Designs for a new AED 1-billion (US$ 274m) residential complex to be built in Al Sayouh (Al Suyoh) suburb in Sharjah have been unveiled by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme. Located near the Emirates Road and Sharjah-Kalba Road, 25 minutes from Sharjah city centre, the development is one of a number of government housing projects in Al Sayouh. The complex is expected to be completed by the end of 2020

The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme was established in 1999 to provide suitable housing for UAE families and newly-weds. The programme also offers housing assistance services such as grants and loans. Over the past 18 years, it has provided billions of Dirhams worth of assistance to Emirati families.

According to officials, Al Sayouh ’16’ Residential Complex is the largest housing project yet undertaken by Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, covering an area of 1.3 million square metres (14 million square feet). The 821-unit project aims to combine quality of life and sustainability, employing energy-efficient architectural designs. The development will include 36 two-bedroom units, 46 three-bedroom units and 730 four-bedroom units.

Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme is building housing complexes across the United Arab Emirates, including developments in Sharjah’s Al Dhaid, Al Rahmaniya and Al Sayouh areas. Sharjah Public Works Department is creating new public gardens in Al Sayouh neighbourhoods 4 and 6.
